Latin American Ilustración 4 Winner!

Uma grande notícia nesse ano que está quase acabando... Minha ilustra "An International Show" é uma das vencedoras da quarta edição do Latin American Ilustracion - LAI4 - uma seleção de imagens que busca representar o melhor da ilustração na América Latina...!

"An International Show" foi criado para o poster especial do 3x3 International Professional Illustration Show. Veja mais sobre esse trabalho nesse post no blog.

Os vencedores serão oficialmente anunciados hoje, no evento Big Talk em New York.

Today in New York, AI-AP presents its annual Big Talk seminar, in which the winners of the Latin American Ilustracion 4 - LAI4 - competition are officially announced...!

LAI4 was judged by an international jury of top creatives, honors the best work being created today by latin american illustrators...!

This time, the jury selected my "An International Show" piece: A special poster made for the 3x3 International Professional Illustration Show last year. Hurray!

Spotlight: Bikefriendly Alligator

O destaque desse mês é minha ilustração para a exposição e livro "Bikefriendly Imagination" (ambos produzidos pela galera da Editora Göoo na Argentina). A exposição foi conferida pelos sortudos que estavam na Argentina em Março de 2014. E o livro - apresentando trabalhos selecionados de 125 artistas de todos os cantos do mundo - foi oficialmente lançado em Setembro, 2014. This month spotlight: My illustration for the "Bikefriendly Imagination" Art Show and Book (brought together by the good folk from Göoo Publishing in Argentina). The art show was seen by the lucky ones in Argentina in March, 2014. And the book - featuring selected artwork by 125 artists from all corners of the world - was launched last September, 2014. Above you can check my contribution to this beautiful project... The "Bikefriendly Alligator"!

Em Novembro de 2014, a Editora Göoo lançou o livro "Bikefriendly Imagination" na Colombia e ainda teremos o lançamento aqui no Brasil... Será fantástico!

Meu "Bikefriendly Alligator" também foi incluído na mais nova edição do 3x3 Illustration Directory e recentemente foi escolhido para a coleção American Illustration 33. Essa é uma bicicleta  que vai longe ainda...!

In November 2014, Göoo Publishing also launched "Bikefriendly Imagination" in Colombia and there are plans to launch the book here in Brazil soon... I don't know when exactly but it would be awesome!

My "Bikefriendly Alligator" was also featured in the latest 3x3 Illustration Directory and was recently included in the American Illustration 33 collection. This is a bike that goes places...!

Showcase 100: Photos!

A exposição + livro "Showcase 100" foi um grande sucesso e aqui você pode var algumas fotos... Mas tem muito mais informação no site dos organizadores do evento, clique aqui para ver fotos e saber mais detalhes.

Esse foi um projeto da Little Chimp Society junto com o site Hire An Illustrator e nem precisa dizer o quanto adorei ter feito parte...! A previsão é uma nova edição do Showcase 100 a cada dois anos e espero ver cada vez mais gente talentosa nas paredes da The Framer's Gallery em Londres.

A exposição já acabou, mas o livro "Showcase 100: Illustration" continua disponível no site da Little Chimp Society.

The art exhibition + book "Showcase 100" was a great success  and I'm just sharing here some pics... Of course you will find a lot more at the Hire An Illustrator blog about this wonderful event.

"Showcase 100" is a Little Chimp Society project in partnership with Hire An Illustrator. I'm very happy to be part of this great party...! There are plans for a new edition in 2017, so stay tuned. I'm looking forward to see more and more awesome art from talented artists displayed on the walls of the Framer's Gallery in London.

Showcase 100 Art Show + Book!

Estou entre os 100 ilustradores selecionados (entre mais de 1400 inscritos) para participar da exposição Showcase 100 que vai começar a partir de amanhã em Londres! Trata-se de um projeto super bacana da Little Chimp Society em parceria com o site Hire An Illustrator.

Um pouco sobre o Showcase 100 (texto retirado do site):

"Showcase 100 é uma exposição e publicação de 100 ilustrações de alguns dos melhores ilustradores profissionais da indústria atualmente. O projeto busca apresentar uma grande variedade de trabalhos que representam as tendências e estilos do mercado criativo durante o ano. (...) Todos os 100 trabalhos serão apresentados na exposição - que acontecerá em Londres - e no livro que acompanhará a mostra."

E o livro já está disponível no site da LCS... E está incrível!

The final 100 artworks from a selection of several hundred will be on display and available to purchase at the show, as will the accompanying book.

3x3 Illustration Directory 2014

Meu trabalho foi selecionado para integrar o 3x3 Illustration Directory 2014! Organizado pelo Diretor de Design da revista 3x3 Magazine, Charles Hively e publicada pela Artisanal Media LLC, o livro pode ser encontrado no site do 3x3 Illustration Directory.

My work was selected to be part of the 3x3 Illustration Directory 2014! Curated by Charles Hively, Design Director of the 3x3 Magazine and published by Artisanal Media LLC, this beautiful book is available at the 3x3 Illustration Directory website.

IlustraBrasil 10 - Great Little Book

Na semana passada recebi o belíssimo catálogo da exposição Ilustra Brasil 10! Fico muito feliz e orgulhoso de estar entre profissionais tão talentosos e fazer parte da SIB: A Sociedade dos Ilustradores do Brasil. Eu adoraria ter ido pessoalmente conferir os trabalhos da galera, mas isso ainda vai acontecer... Quem sabe na próxima...? Até lá, esse grande pequeno livro vai me fazer companhia.

Last week I received the beautiful catalogue from the IlustraBrasil 10 exhibition! I'm very happy and proud to be among such great artists and being part of SIB, the Society of Illustrators of Brazil. I would love to have been at the launch party but unfortunately it was not possible... Maybe next time! Until then, this great little book will be my companion.

Los Diez - Colombia!

Vamos para o Sul! Los Diez agora viaja para Colômbia!

Os que acompanham este blog a mais tempo já sabem que meu trabalho faz parte da exposição Los Diez: Dos 29 vencedores selecionados para fazer parte do Latin American Fotografía and Ilustración 2, dez ilustradores foram escolhidos para integrar "Los Diez", uma exposição especial produzida pela Epson.

A primeira exposição Los Diez aconteceu em Novembro de 2013 em Nova York, Estados Unidos e agora a próxima parada é Bogotá, Colômbia! Los Diez é um evento global e multicultural de arte e idéias... Fico muito feliz em pela oportunidade de poder fazer parte de uma iniciativa dessas!

Los Diez irá acontecer de 29 de Março até o dia 10 de Abril, na Casa Tinta, Trv. 26B #41-40, La Soledad, Bogotá - Colômbia.

Going Sur! LOS DIEZ in Colombia!

As you might already know, I'm one of the Los Diez: From the 29 winners selected in the Latin American Fotografía and Ilustración Dos competition, 10 illustrators were picked to be included in the special, traveling exhibit produced by Epson.

The first Los Diez exhibit took place on November at New York and now the next stop is Bogotá, Colombia! This is a Global and Multi-Cultural exchange of Art and Ideas and I'm really happy to be part of this!

Los Diez will be available to the public in Bogotá, Colombia, from March 29 to April 10, at CasaTinta, Trv. 26B #41-40, La Soledad.

Recebi uma grande notícia: Minha ilustração "Hotel Espacial" é um dos dez... ou melhor, um de LOS DIEZ!

Dos 29 vencedores selecionados para fazer parte do Latin American Fotografía and Ilustración 2, dez ilustradores foram escolhidos para integrar "Los Diez", uma exposição especial produzida pela Epson e que ocorrerá em várias cidades dos Estados Unidos.

Os ilustradores que fazem parte de "Los Diez" foram anunciados ontem durante o evento Big Talk em Nova York e a exposição dos trabalhos começa hoje, na festa - Big Party, também em NY - do Latin American Fotografía and Ilustracíon 2!

E mais... Dos 10 ilustradores, três são do Brasil: Além de mim, temos o Kako e o Walter Vasconcelos...! Ou seja, mais um motivo para comemorar!

Let me share some awesome news: My illustration "Space Hotel" is one of The Ten...! LOS DIEZ are here!

From the 29 winners selected in the Latin American Fotografía and Ilustración Dos competition, 10 illustrators were picked to be included in this special, traveling exhibit produced by Epson.

"Los Diez" collection were unveiled yesterday at the Big Talk event in NYC and will be exhibited today at The Party (also in NYC) as part of a two-day celebration.

A décima - sim, décima! São 10 anos! - edição do mais importante evento sobre ilustração no Brasil começa no dia 18 de Outubro: Estou falando do IlustraBrasil!, que todos os anos reúne trabalhos da mais alta qualidade e engenhosidade, organizado pela SIB, a Sociedade dos Ilustradores do Brasil.

The tenth edition - yes! Tenth edition! Ten years! - of the most important event about contemporary illustration in Brazil will start on October 18th: I'm talking about the IlustraBrasil! Year after year featuring the best of Brazil's illustration scene and organised by the Society of illustrators of Brazil.



E estou participando do IlustraBrasil!10 - sim, dez! Já comentei que são dez anos? - dessa vez com a ilustração que criei para a capa do álbum da banda Hotelo. Essa arte foi uma das vencedoras do Latin American Ilustración 2 e será exposta em NY e agora também poderá ser vista em tamanho "big" pelo público brasileiro aqui no Brasil: Quem quiser ver de perto e conferir em detalhes o "Hotel Espacial", o IlustraBrasil!10 acontecerá no Senac Lapa Scipião, em São Paulo e depois seguirá para o Rio de Janeiro.

And I am one of the 100 illustrators participating in IlustraBrazil!10... This year I sent my artwork for the Hotelo álbum cover: The "Space Hotel"! This very illustration was one of the winners of the upcoming Latin American Ilustración 2 (and will be part of a special art show in NYC). And now the good people in Brazil will be able to see this illo in a very, very big format...! IlustraBrazil!10 will take place in São Paulo before going to Rio.

E nesse ano temos mais um IlustraBrasil! A nona edição começa hoje, no Rio de Janeiro e vai até o dia 12 de Novembro. Depois seguirá para São Paulo. Para que ama ilustração essa é um evento incrível, imperdível e inesquecível...! Minha ilustração "People Movers" feita para ilustrar a capa de uma série de sketchbooks da Schizzibooks faz parte da mostra do IB9. Será a primeira vez que as pessoas poderão ver de perto a "versão completa" e num tamanho bem maior...!

Hurray! The most important illustration event in Brazil starts today: IlustraBrasil 9! It will take place in Rio - from October 08 to November 12th - and after that it goes to São Paulo. For everyone who loves illustration IB9 is the most awesome show featuring illos full of awesomeness. The "complete version" - bigger and with much more detail - of my "People Movers" artwork will be featured at IlustraBrasil9... If you are reading this and are planning to visit Rio or São Paulo, be sure to check out IlustraBrasil 9.

fig.02 Congreso Internacional de Ilustración

No dia 19 de Abril terá início o fig.02 Congresso Internacional de Ilustração, na cidade de Bogotá, Colombia. Serão três dias seguidos para discutir e divulgar a iustração profissional e que terá workshops com vários ilustradores de diferentes partes do mundo.

Além disso, juntamente com o fig.02 acontecerá a exposição "Impredecible Gráfica Brasileña" com 12 ilustradores brasileiros, onde ser pretende apresentar um retrato do cenário da ilustração no Brasil.

On April 19th the International Illustration Congress fig.02 will begin in Bogotá, Colombia. No less than 3 days for discussing and promoting the illustration field. There will be workshops with illustrators from different corners of the world as well.

Also with fig.02, there is the "Impredecible Gráfica Brasileña": An exhibition with 12 Brazilian illustrators where the goal is to present a snap shot of the professional illustration scene in Brazil.



Tive a grande alegria em aceitar o convite para participar da exposição, com dois trabalhos: "People Movers" (Capa para uma edição limitada de sketchbooks da Schizzibooks) e "Mantendo Contato", ilustração criada para uma série de livros didáticos da Editora Ática.

I had a tremendous joy accepting the invitation and the ehxibition will feature two works by me: "People Movers" (cover for a limited edition of sketchbook from the good folks at Schizzibooks) and "Keeping In Contact", artwork created for a series of educational book published by Atica Publishing House.



E ao saber quem eram os demais ilustradores convidados da exposição, fiquei ainda mais satisfeito com a certeza de estar em grande companhia... Olhem só os nomes da "gangue" no cartaz abaixo...!

E depois da bem sucedida exposição IllustraBrazil, em Xangai, China (saiba mais clicando aqui), chegou a vez do IlustraBrasil! (com um "L" só e com "S"... sim!) em sua oitava edição. A exposição abre no dia 26 de Setembro, no Rio de Janeiro e depois irá direto para... Brasília, Capital da Diversão! Ok, essa última parte era brincadeira... Depois do Rio, o IlustraBrasil!8 seguirá para São Paulo. Olhe só o belo cartaz criado pelo Renato Alarcão:

And after the successful IllustraBrazil Art Show in Shangai, China (more about IllustraBrazil here), now it's time for IlustraBrasil! (with just one "L" and a "S" instead of a "Z") extravaganza in its 8th edition. This awesome show opens September 26th, in the lovely town of Rio de Janeiro. Check the gorgeous poster created by Renato Alarcão bellow:



Adoraria comparecer à abertura mas está complicado... É como se o Rio estivesse em outro planeta! E, falando em outro planeta, esse é o tema da ilustração que enviei para o IlustraBrasil!8: "Walking On Mars" (Caminhando em Marte), criada para a Mars Society em 2010 e presente no livro "Exploring Mars".

I would love to be at the opening day, but things are a little busy for me right now... It's almost like Rio is in another planet! Oh, and by the way, "another planet" is what my illo in the IlustraBrasil!8 is all about: "Walking On Mars", created for the Mars Society and the book "Exploring Mars" in 2010.

ILLUSTRABRAZIL

Ilustradores brasileiros invadem a China! O IllustraBrazil - o primeiro evento internacional da SIB (Sociedade dos Ilustradores do Brasil) - acontece a partir do dia 20 de Agosto e vai até 25 de Setembro, na The Foundry Gallery em Xangai, China. Isso é muito, muito legal!

A proposta é apresentar "um recorte da cultura brasileira visto por cem artistas gráficos de diversas gerações e regiões do país", então todos os trabalhos tem um quê de retrato do Brasil... O meu trabalho na exposição é o Plantação de Alfaces (também conhecido como "Happy Farmer"), uma ilustração criada para o Governo Federal... Agora os alfaces estão na China! Quem poderia imaginar?

E se você está na China - sortudo - além da exposição, o IllustraBrazil também inclui palestras e seminários...! Seguem abaixo maiores detalhes:

Wow, there is an invasion of Brazilian illustrators taking place right now in China! The IllustraBrazil - the first international show organized by SIB (Society of Illustrators of Brazil) - will be held from August 20th to September 25th, 2011 at The Foundry Gallery in Shangai, China. This is really, really cool!

The idea is to feature "aspects of Brazilian culture, nature, sports, cities, people etc through a variety of editorial & advertising illustration, comics and animation works by 100 of the finest contemporary Brazilian graphic artists" so every piece in the show can be considered a little picture of Brazil. And my contribution is the very "Happy Farmer" from my Lettuce Farm piece, an illustration created for the Brazilian Federal Government... Now those lettuces are in China! Who could imagine that?

And if you are in China, I envy you because IllustraBrazil also includes a series of lectures and workshops and other cool things as well...! More info bellow!
