Uau, o tempo voa quando estamos nos divertindo...! Um monte de coisas legais aconteceram... Aqui vai uma breve recapitulação do que rolou nos últimos 12 meses!
2011 teve um início promissor com o
debut da Reference Press, uma editora dos mesmos responsáveis pela indispensável
Revista Ilustrar (que recebeu um HQ Mix esse ano!). A Reference já lançou dois livros excelentes -
clique aqui para comprar - e mal posso esperar pelo que virá em seguida.
Wow, how time goes fast when you're having fun...! A lot of great things happened this year... So here is a little reminding of some of the coolest things from last 12 months!
2011 had a promising start with the Reference Press debut, a publishing house from the same gang behind the awesome Ilustrar Magazine. Reference Press launched two wonderful books so far - click here to grab your copy - and I can't wait to see what they will bring to us in the next year.

Luerzer's Special 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide - me deixou honrado e muito feliz incluindo meu nome mais uma vez entre tantos artistas talentosos. A peça escolhida foi
"C'est La Mort!", criada para a
exposição Dia de los Muertos, com a Autumn Society, é um dos meus trabalhos preferidos e
está disponível na Urban Arts!
Creative Quartely 22 featured my illo "Doggies" and we also had the Luerzer's Special with the list of the 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide... And once more I had the honor to be in the list with one of my favorite works: "C'est La Mort!" Created for the Autumn Society Dia de los Muertos Art Show, "C'est La Mort!" is also available at Urban Arts as high quality print.
E uma estranha antologia foi lançada em 2011:
The Strange Kid Club Anthology #1 reuniu diversos artistas que criaram quadrinhos e pin-ups estranhíssimos... Minha contribuição, um
instantâneo em 3D do próprio Strange Kid em um dos seus momentos. Foi divertido criar essa imagem tri-dimensional - ou deveria dizer, estereoscópia? No próximo ano teremos mais... Bom, o próximo ano está tão perto que aqui vai um pequeno preview... Sci-Fi 3D Extravaganza em 3D... Espero que gostem!
An awesome collection of strange artwork was unleashed by Strange Kid Club in the pages of their anthology magazine. My contribution, a 3D extravaganza starring the Strange Kid himself. I had so much fun creating this 3D illo and I hope to have more opportunities to go stereoscopic next year... Well... The next year is just around the corner so here is a small preview of things to come... A Sci-Fi 3D Extravaganza in 3D...! I hope you like it!
Nesse ano tive a alegria de poder participar de três fantásticas exposições:
Meth & Hot Dogs 2, nos Estados Unidos foi a primeira, apresentando personagens e trabalhos criados em mídia não-digital... Uma experiência que me agradou muito. E depois, 2011 abrigou não apenas um, mas dois IBs...!

This year I had the opportunity of being part of three awesome art shows: The first one - Meth & HotDogs 2 - was described as a celebration of character art in all its forms (...) plush, custom toys, sculptures and paintings (...) an appreciation for the demented, cute and strange. And months later, 2011 brought not only one but TWO IBs (Brazilian Illustration annual expo)...!
O primeiro aconteceu em outubro, o
IllustraBrazil (com dois Ls e um Z), na China. Minha ilustração -
"Plantação de Alfaces" - criada para o Governo Federal fez parte da primeira exposição internacional da
SIB - Sociedade dos Ilustradores do Brasil - foi um grande sucesso que direcionou os holofotes chineses para o cenário brasileiro de ilustração. E tal cenário mais uma vez prova sua força e importância com a magnífica
oitava edição do IlustraBrasil (desta vez, com S). Minha ilustra -
"Walking on Mars" - para o IB8! foi originalmente criada para o
livro "Exploring Mars" (outro projeto maravilhoso com a marca da
Autumn Society) da Mars Society. Uma ilustra sobre as incríveis possibilidades que nos aguardam - quem sabe? - nos próximos anos...

The first IB came as IllustraBrazil and took place in Shangai, China. It was a huge success that helped put Brazilian illustration in the mind - and hopefully, also in the hearts - of Chinese visitors. My piece displayed at IllustraBrazil was "Lettuce Farm" (also known as "The Happy Farmer"), an illustration created for the Brazilian Federal Government...
And then we had the IlustraBrasil 8, 8th edition: The annual art show from SIB (Society of Illustrators of Brazil) that is more and more awesome year after year. My illo for IB8 was "Walking On Mars", created for the book "Exploring Mars" (a beautiful project from the Autumn Society)
