Tarsila

"Tarsila", escrito por Maria Adelaide Amaral, conta a história da artista Tarsila do Amaral, representante do Modernismo Brasileiro e cujo quadro mais famoso é o Abaporu. Essa é uma cena onde a pintora conversa com Oswald de Andrade e Mário de Andrade e está prestes a entrar para "a turma".

"Tarsila", a play written by Maria Adelaide Amaral, tell us the story of Tarsila do Amaral, one of the most important Brazilian painters and a key figure in the Brazilian Modernists Movement. Her most famous painting is the Abaporu. This is a scene from the pay where Tarsila is talking with other two modernist artists - Oswald de Andrade and Mário de Andrade - and is about to be accepted in "the gang".



Foi muito legal trabalhar nessas ilustrações - para a Editora Ática - e explorar um pouco os temas e  universo das belíssimas pinturas da Tarsila... Usei alguns elementos de suas pinturas, evitei reproduzir uma de suas obras e busquei trazê-la para o meu mundinho... Queria poder ilustrar o texto inteiro, mas dessa vez era apenas um trechinho...! Quem sabe um dia...?

Working in this coule of illos was really cool and the opportunity of exploring themes and the universe of Tarsila's beautiful paintings ...! I used some  elements from her work and tried to bring her to my own little world... I wish I could illustrate the whole play but this time Ática Publishing House gave me only a snippet... But, maybe in the future... Who knows?
