Global Yodel: Brasília!

Global Yodel é um incrível projeto que apresenta lugares de todo o mundo interpretados por quem vive nesses lugares. Como diz o slogan: "Travel through a local lens"! Artistas, fotógrafos e ilustradores são convidados para participar criando um cartão postal e agora você pode ver minha contribuição: "We Are Only What We Feel" (título inspirado na canção "On The Way Home", do Neil Young). Um postal mostrando uma Super Quadra: área residencial de Brasília, a cidade onde moro.

Além do postal - chamado de Yodel -, cada artista também tem a oportunidade de falar um pouco da cidade onde mora e oferecer dicas sobre lugares e passeios interessantes para quem estiver visitando...! Aproveite para visitar o site Global Yodel e ler minha entrevista (além de poder ver a minha ilustração num tamanho bem maior) e conhecer um pouco mais sobre Brasília. Ou pelo menos, como eu vejo Brasília!

Global Yodel is an inspiring project that features places all around the World but with a beautiful different way: Each place is shown - as their motto says - "through a local lens". Artists, photographers and illustrators are invited to participate creating a post card about their home town. "We Are Only What We Feel" (a titled inspired by Neil Young) is my piece about the place were I'm living: Brasilia (Brazil).

Each artist also have the opportunity of talking a little bit about their Yodel and how it relates to their home town. You will find interesting tips and insights about each place that could only come from a local point of view...! Visit the Global Yodel web site and check out my interview (and see my artwork a lot more bigger). I hope you will enjoy discovering Brasília... Or at least discovering how I see this crazy town!

Eu and Pandemia #14/Pandemia #14 and Me

A galera do Pandemia Fanzine me convidou para dar um entrevista que está na edição 14 da revista. Pandemia é uma revista digital e totalmente grátis sobre design e ilustração, com muita coisa interessante a cada nova edição.

The nice folks at Pandemia Fanzine invited me to give them an interview that now can be found at Pandemia #14. Pandemia is a digital magazine - free download - about design and illustration, with a lot of beautiful and interesting things on the pages of each edition.



Uma coisa legal na entrevista é que uma das perguntas me pedia para olhar uma mancha - dessas parecidas com os teste de rorschach - e dizer o que eu via. Bom, acima está a mancha e logo abaixo o que eu vi, ha ha!

One cool thing about my interview is that they have show me a image - similar to those rorschach tests - and asked me what did I saw in that image. Well, you can see the inkblot above... And bellow is what I saw in it! ha ha!

Entrevista para Revista Ilustrar #15

Estou na edição desse mês da Revista Ilustrar, "primeira revista 100% brasileira feita por ilustradores, voltada para o mercado de ilustração nacional e internacional." A Edição #15, além de incluir este que vos fala sendo entrevistado na seção portfolio, também trás em suas páginas Brad Holland, Francis Vallejo (Que foi a capa dessa edição), Roger Cruz (Sketchbook, muito legal!), Elias Silveira (com um "making of" da capa da MAD), Renato Alarcão e Juarez Machado respondendo 15 perguntas...

Na entrevista eu falo um pouco sobre o começo da minha jornada como ilustrador, sobre meu estilo - ou melhor, prefiro o termo acadêmico "jeito" - de ilustrar, paper toys, Rabiscão e etc... Espero não ter dito muita bobagem ou pelo menos que a entrevista não esteja parecendo conversa de bêbado...! Ha ha!

Agradecimentos ao incansável Ricardo Antunes, que além de moderar o Ilustragrupo ainda encontra tempo e energia para fazer essa revista, que é uma fonte inesgotável de inspiração para qualquer um que possua interesse por ilustração.

Revista Ilustrar - "The first 100% brazilian magazine made by illustrators, driven to the national and international illustration market" - is featuring an interview with me! Not only that but the issue #15 also have a lot of awesome guests like Brad Holland, Roger Cruz, Francis Vallejo, Elias Silveira, Renato Alarcão and Juarez Machado (which wonderful works were inspiration for the photography of that french movie Amélie, if I not mistaken...)

Revista Ilustrar is available for free download here. All texts are in portuguese only but a version in english is coming soon, I believe! Anyway, even if you don't speak portuguese, you can always have the pictures to look at, right?

O site Gamervision.com fez uma série de entrevistas com os artistas envolvidos na exposição "8-bit & Beyond" cujo tema é video games e é organizada pela The Autumn Society, o coletivo de artistas por trás dos bem-sucedidos "The 80's Show" e "Golden Age Show".

Eu participo dessa exposição com uma ilustração inspirada no jogo Yar's Revenge, que recebeu versões para Atari e Game Boy Color. Clique aqui para ler a minha entrevista onde eu falo sobre video games e um pouco mais sobre o processo criativo por trás desse novo trabalho.
